Our Story
Decades of institutional memory, carried forward by a new generation of legal professionals.
The Inheritance of Excellence
Our story did not begin today. It began decades ago at 3 Parliament Street, New Delhi, within the walls of one of India’s pioneer law firms — J. B. Dadachanji & Company. This was a firm that did not merely practise law; it helped shape it, offering a uniquely holistic approach to clients navigating a newly-independent, dynamic India.
Led by the legendary Mr. J. B. Dadachanji, Mr. Ravinder Narain, and Mr. O. C. Mathur, the firm became a benchmark for excellence in the Indian legal profession. That legacy of benchmark-setting is our inheritance.
After the demise of his partners, Mr. Ravinder Narain carried the torch forward, continuing the practice in his personal capacity under the name and style of “Ravinder Narain & Company.”
Today, the mantle has been passed to his senior associates, who founded DNA Legal to carry this profound legacy into a new era. DNA Legal is the modern manifestation of a timeless commitment to legal excellence.

Why DNA Legal
Heritage that translates into instinct
Decades of institutional memory carried forward from one of India’s pioneer law firms inform the way we read a brief, anticipate the other side, and structure a strategy.
Pan-India reach, single point of accountability
Wherever the dispute is, the firm appears — with a single partner answerable for the brief from filing to satisfaction, ensuring uniform standards of advocacy and client reporting.
Commercial sensibility, by design
We tell clients when not to litigate, just as readily as we tell them when to. We measure success not by paper victories, but by the commercial results in the client's account.
